Striker Louis Agyemang has been made substantive captain of AshantiGold, according to reports.
The experienced striker replaces the departed Fatau Dauda as the team’s leader for the upcoming season, Kumasi-based Metro FM have reported.
The club’s top hierarchy is banking on Agyemang’s vast experience on the local scene to guide their relatively young team this term.
The substantive captaincy role has been lying idle since the departure of goalkeeper Dauda to South African club Orlando Pirates this off-season.
Agyemang who has won two international caps played for Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC in the Ghanaian top flight.
