Tamimu Muntari claimed the honour of scoring the first goal of the new Ghana Premier League season on Sunday when the competition kicked off.
The striker put Liberty Professionals ahead against a side he is very familiar with, Wa AllStars.
Muntari, who played on loan last season for the Wa-based side, was released before the transfer window shut punished his immediate past club by firing in the league’s opening goal.
The former Mighty Jets player scored in the 8th minute as it was registered as the season’s opening goal at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The game ended 1-1 after Samuel Boateng equalised for Wa All Stars.
