Felix Aboagye wants Adam Kwarasey maintained as first choice goalie
The former Norway youth international’s performance has come under serious scrutiny with former Ghana goalkeeper Abukari Damba claiming 25-year-old has lost confident.
The Stromsgodset first glovesman allowed in two cheeky goals in the 4-2 triumph over Tunisia in Abu Dhabi last week.
AshGold shot-stopper Fatau Dauda who was part of Ghana’s squad when the Nations Cup was hosted on home soil in 2008 is favoured for the starting gloves after his impressive showing against Egypt in a warm-up game.
Former Black Stars striker Felix Aboagye played a crucial role in Ghana’s campaign in South Africa in 1996 insists Kwesi Appiah must maintain the Norwegian-born because of his experience.
“Experience will count a lot in South Africa and Kwarasey was in the last edition in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea so I think Kwesi Appiah should keep him as the first choice goalie,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.
This guy should shut up and let the coach do his job. what does he know.
AA should be bold and start Fatau. The Norway league ended long time ago so Adam has been inactive.Fatau was superb against Cape Verde & Egypt.during AFCON 2012 Adam gave away cheeky goal to Guinea which almost cost our qualification. He has started those flaws again with Tunisia.if Appiah was bold enough to drop Dede, then he should be couragious enough to start Fatau who has performed relatively better.Adam sometimes misjudges his timings & that can cost us if we are not careful. No team can will AFCON if their keeper is shambolic.Lets learn from Egypt and Zambia who paraded keepers ie El Hadry & Kennedy Mweene who were well vest in the African games to win AFCON.Go Ghana,go Black Stars!
