Liberia arrive in Ghana to prepare for Nigeria clash

Liberia national team has arrived in Ghana for a one-week camp ahead of the return leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria on October 13.

Liberia national team has arrived in Ghana for a one-week camp ahead of the return leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria on October 13.

According to the Communication Director at the Liberia Football Association Henry Flomo, the 24-man delegation, includes 12 local and four foreign based players.

The Lone Star will take on the Super Eagles on 13 October in what is expected to be a very engaging encounter.

During the first leg played at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville recently, the Lone Star forced the Super Eagles to a 2-2 draw before an impatient home crowd, including Chief Patron of Sports President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and Vice President Joseph Boakia.

Meanwhile, about US$ 270,000 has already been raised by the national mobilization committee for the team’s training in camp and related undertakings.

The seven-day camp in Ghana is intended to prepare the boys for the October 13 encounter with the Eagles.

Among players already mustered for the game are Zah Krangar of Persipure Jayapura of Indonesia; Junior Wilson of Semen Padang in Indonesia; Tonia Tisdell of Turkey; Sekou Jabateh Oliseh of CSKA Moscow in Russia; Solomon Grimes, Arseriey Keita in France, Jimmy Dixon in Sweden, Theo weeks of Turkey and Omage Robert.

Local based players on the team are George Gebro of Invincible Eleven; Nathaniel Sherman of UMC Roots; Teah Dennis of BYC; and Isaac Pupo of LPRC, among others.
