DR Congo coach Claude Leroy
By Ameenu Shardow
Claude Leroy has spoken highly of Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah ahead of their 2013 Nations Cup meeting on January 20.
The Black Stars open their Group B campaign against Congo DR who have the Frenchman as their coach.
The 64-year-old was coach of Ghana for two years – during which period he led the Black Stars to a bronze medal feat at the 2008 edition of the Nations Cup hosted on home soil.
The current Ghana coach, Appiah served as an assistant to Leroy during his reign which began in 2006.
Leroy however comes up against his former side, more particularly his ex trainee of whom he describes as ‘a gentleman’ in a move many might describe as a classical act of setting Ghana up for the great fall in January.
“The coach of Ghana, Kwasi (Appiah) is a gentleman, he was my assistant and I am very happy to meet him on any other day,” he said.
Ghana will play Mali and Niger in the other two group games all to be played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
Coach Appiah be careful, don’t buy this because it could be a psychological ware fare against you, You just remain focused on your job.
These are all mind games and i ll be very surprised if ghanaians falls second time to these french foolishness!!! Renard plays a lot of mind games with us during the afcon and we fall for it and the rest they say is history.. yet aagin, i was more speechless when he used the same mind games to defeat us again during the worldcup qualifies and that defeat ll be our undoing in this worldcup!! Eversince the afcon draw, this leroy guy has being heaping a lot of praises on us thereby putting a lot of pressure on us and he needs ghana crumbles easily under pressure and i know appiah ll be smart and be a real ghanaian because a real ghanaian is very smart innately!!! African football is changing and we shouldnt allow some medicroe teams to build their credentials on us!!! If we dont take care now, ghana will be another britain in africa football because a lot of team prepares so specially for us and is about time we live up to expectations to defuse this rising notion that we are weak and therefore easily conquered!!! A word to the wise is in dr congo and those who has ears, let them listen to what …………… viva the revoluctionoolllllllllooo!!!!!
Congo too strong for Ghana!
We will whoop their ass come January bcos we are wild to win afcon.Leroy failed Ghanaians in 2008 & this is the time to punish him.He can say whatever he likes.

DR Congo will whip Ghana for sure. Ghana people are just full of mouth but no actions!.
Dr Congo has been whipping Ghana’s A.. since 1968 in Ethiopia. We last whoop you in 2009 in CHAN final.
Look how our next door brothers from Zambia have humiliated your black stars on more than one occasion!!.
Now you’re going to face the master in African football, his name is Leroy!!!.
You bound to crush by Mputu and his troops. Mark my words.
concerned citizen, u’re right cos this is purely psychological game which is to overcome u ahead of the class…the blackstars psychologist must guide the entire team, from technical to the players.
