Ex-international Nii Odartey Lamptey wants the Ghana Football Association to rope in more of retired footballers to help develop the game in the country.

Lamptey wants to see increased participation of retired professional footballers in the management of the national teams.

At the 2014 World Cup, ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah played the role of a liaison officer and he excelled.

Lamptey says more of such decisions should be encouraged to achieve desirable results for the country.

“The football people should make use of former footballers that is one trick the foreign countries are using to get results and I advise we tone the same line,” the former Anderlecht player told Cape-Coast based ATL FM.

“When we get the former footballers involved I am sure we can reshape the football in this country.”
