Ghana defender Lee Addy claims he has come on in leaps and bounds after his short stay at Serbian side Red Star Belgrade.

The 20-year-old has earned rave reviews for his performances for the former European champions

Last Sunday, he deeply etched his name on the minds of the fans and club officials with another 18-carat gold performance in Red Star’s 2-0 win over Indjija.

“It’s not easy. Gathering the experience from the African Cup Nations and the World Cup, I think it has helped me a lot to excel over there and I’m grateful,” Addy said.

Addy moved to the Serbian giants before the end of the summer transfer window in August.

He is a member of the 21-players invited for Ghana’s Nations Cup qualifier against Sudan in Kumasi on 10 October.

  2. Ghana Midfield Rock says:

Shame to all the people who criticised his move blaming Milo for using Ghana players.

You heard it from the horses mouth, he has improved.

    20 though?

  3. JACK BOAT says:

A GOOD ONE THERE, GHANA MIDFIELD ROCK. GREAT SHAME TO THEM ESPECIALLY SABACIOUS WHO LAMBASTED THE EX COACH FOR CALLING LEE ADDY. INFACT HE CLAIMS NOBODY PLAYING IN THE GHANA LEAGUE DOESN’T DESERVE TO BE CALLED INTO THE BLACK STARS. HE CLAIMS HE KNOWS THE BEST PLAYERS FOR THE BLACK STARS. HOW HE DOES THAT FROM THE CHINESE KITCHEN WHERE HE WASHES POTS, ONLY GOD KNOWS.IT IS CLEAR SABACIOUS IS AN EGO MANIAC. HE JUST WANT TO COME AND SHOW OFF HERE. ALL HE DOES IS ATTACK AND CRITICISE UP AND COMING GHANAIAN STARS. HE JUST WANT TO DAMPEN THEIR SPIRITS AND DISCOURAGE THEM FROM ACHIEVING THEIR POTENTIAL. IN SHORT SABACIOUS AND HIS FELLOW SIDE WALK COACHES ARE A MENACE TO GHANA FOOTBALL AND SHOULD BE TACKLED AT ANY GIVEN OPPORTUNITY. ONCE AGAIN THANK U MIDFIELD ROCKS.

  4. Outsider says:

This is for Sabacious. You are saying Lee Addy should stop blowing his horn and “let us judge you”. But I thought you have already given your judgement on Addy claiming he is not a “Black Star material” and that Milo called him because of his connections with some Eastern European organisation. This shows that brother, you are very shallow minded indeed and don’t really know or think about what you say until you have said it. It is clear you are a source of mischief on this website and it is important whatever you say here is scrutinised carefully to expose your mischief.

  5. Unknown says:

    Wow.. 20-yrs old?

Don’t u think it’s a bit too early to claim you’ve improved Mr. Addy? I can imagine that he feels he’s on top of the world right now and (honestly) I’m very happy for him. But maintain this form and let others do the talking. He comes across a humble guy and I hope he stays like that!

  6. Kwame denkyi says:

For a player to say that he thinks he has improved is not at all bragging. It’s commendable. I believe it’s a way of appreciating his former coaches, trainers, peers, and fans for being behind him. In the first place the fans have already done the talking as he has received rave reviews from teammates coaches and fans for his die hard performances for his team. I am sure they are proud of him and he is beginning to acknowledge the support and hardwork that was invested in him. For the time being he’s come out honourable and not a disgrace. Let it be rather said he has added to Ghana football and given it laurels and something to be proud of. Thanks Addy for your hardwork. You have made unbelievers believe. Continue to work hard and you will excel in the national team as well. As the old ubiquitous and cliche saying goes ‘the sky is the limit’.

  7. keith from germany says:

hahaha sabacious always shoot himself in his own knees.guys leave him for me i can handle him without problem.he thinks he knows all.
my brothers we the old soccernet forumites know sabacious very well that he doesnt knows wat he is talking about.
he said milo was doing nepotism n now that milo has gone wat the heck is he waiting for?sabacious why dont u apply for the stars job since u know better.
he said milo didnt give derek boateng enough chance to prove himself.in our game against bosnia-herzigovina on the 3rd of march this year in sarajevo, derek boateng subtituited kwado asamoah n flopped totally wasting balls in midfield.on the 2nd of june against holland at de kuip stadium in rotterdam, milo once again gave derek boateng the chance to prove him wrong but he once again flopped totally.becuz of that milo dropped him n featured kp boateng in our final worldcup test match against latvia at the melton keynes stadium in london.later in that game derek owusu boateng was introduced in the game n he lost many balls but thanks to anthony anann, the worst was prevented.sabacious u cant tell me that three games aint enough for one to prove himself to a coach.
lee addy has been outsanding eversince he started playing for the stars.these two major tournaments has given him vast experienceso no wonder he is excelling at red star belgrade.
guys leave the swedish hustler for me i can handle him like an egg.
he sabacious aka swedish burger starts to insults if he sees that he islosing.the new forumites dont kno him becuz he has throwed dust in their eyes but we the old folks here knows him dito dito n feeli gadoochi.sabacious come again brother.
