Ghana defender Lee Addy has completed a three-year deal with newly-promoted Chinese Super League side Daelin Aerbin.

The 21-year-old was presented to the media on Wednesday after passing a medical.

The versatile defender moves from Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade for a transfer fee of  $2.2m.

There was interest from Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev but they were willing to pay only $1.5m.

Addy’s former club Berekum Chelsea will get 30 percent of his transfer per the agreement that exists between Red Star and the Ghanaian champions.

He is expected back in Accra by Thursday to join Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations team ahead of their camping in Rustenburg, South Africa which begins on 7 January.

“I think this is a very cordial and harmonious atmosphere. I am very pleased to be a player of Dalian Aerbin,” Addy said.

“I want to Dalian to achieve better results in the new season. I will put in my energy to get the best for the club.

“Also permit me to thank the chairman Li Ming for giving me the opportunity to showcase my skills.”

Addy played 13 out of the 15 matches for Red Star Belgrade and had two years left on his contract.

  4. mukmin says:

It would be better to invite a local defender to the BS than someone who plays in China.

  5. Peewee says:

Lets face it, many of our players are much older than they claim on paper hence they jump at the first opportunity to play in a less intensive league where they can make some quick bucks before their real age catches up with them.

  6. ziggy says:

Congrate Mr.lee, just stay right there dont even think about returning to B.Stars.

  9. Kwatriot says:

Good for the money and a jab of kung fu will do the common sense. Don’t give up yet for you’ll learn at the feet of the grand masters and perhaps some black belt. It all depends on you if you can keep performing. Welcome to the shaolin and good luck.

  10. gg says:

Is Addy starting a career as a Goalkeeper or? what is the sense in this move?? He won’t be playing in the Black Stars for very long if he keeps making these kind of career choices.

  11. D LIGHT says:

LACK OF VISION is killing GH footballers. Do they set goals at all? Cant they learn frm the likes of ETOO who made NAME in the GAME and later saw money chasing em for their signatures. INFERIORITY COMPLEX, Shortsightedness and BLOCKHEADEDNESS has dominated our game. No wonder they all worship the dancer. Our up and coming futballers sld take inspiration frm the likes of S. KUFFUOR, ABEDI, CK akkunor, T. Yeboah and etc who r great achievers wit respect frm all walks of life. Gh soccer mst intensify the Academy system in the country cos its obvious ignorance is the GERM living in their heads.

im not surprise at all cos thats where he belong.we have always been complaining about this guys inclusion in the bs and some rats wouldnt allow us to talk,im glad we are all seeing it.
