Late equaliser denies impressive Fatau Dauda victory as Ajax hold Chippa United
FILE PICTURE: Mbuyiselo Sambo of Chippa United (L) and Fatah Dauda of Chippa United after Ajax Cape Town scored the equalising goal during the Absa Premiership match between Chippa United and Ajax Cape Town at Nelson Mandela Stadium on August 29, 2014 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Fatau Dauda was denied his first victory for Chippa United as Ajax Cape Town grabbed a stunning late equaliser despite the Ghana goalkeeper's excellent showing in Friday night's game.

Thabiso Nkoana denied Chippa United a stunning victory in the 1-1 draw match in South Africa top-flight game at Port Elizabeth diminishing all the good effort by the Black Stars first choice stopper.

Ajax Cape Town came into this league encounter on the back of two consecutive victories - against Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits respectively - and were aiming to pile more misery on a Chippa United side that has lost their last three games.

The visitors started the brighter of the two sides, with Nathan Paulse giving the Chilli Boys all sorts of problems but the Urban Warriors couldn't use that to their advantage as goalkeeper Fatau Dauda marshalled his defence quite well.

Ajax exploited spaces in the opposition's half and Dauda was forced to a great save in the 56th minute.

The Ghana international turned Travis Graham's shot away for a corner before collecting easily, gathering the resultant corner inside his own box.

Chippa United then took the lead through Mxolisi Ntshingila's 81st minute strike. Ntshingila had replaced Mbenyane two minutes earlier, but it took him less than 90 seconds to punish the Mother City club.

However, Ajax levelled matters in the 89th minute when Thabiso Nkoana slotted home from close range to earn the visitors a vital point away from home while the Cape side maintained their unbeaten run this season.

Dauda will arrive in Ghana this weekend for the matches against Uganda and Togo next week.
