Laryea Kingston insists he did no wrong

By Patrick Akoto

Hearts influential midfielder Laryea Kingston insists he won’t apologize to the club in the wake of his continuous suspension.

The 31-year-old is serving an indefinite ban after he clashed with head trainer CK Akunnor at the team’s pre-season camping base in Takoradi.

While captain Mahatma Otoo has launched a campaign to have the player reinstated in the team, management are unwavering insisting the former Heart of Midlothian midfielder has not shown enough remorse.

Kingston has stoked the fire by insisting he owes no one an apology.

“You suspended me indefinitely with immediate effect and so how do you expect me to go to the trainin grounds? To go there and do what? Kingston retorted on Kumasi-based Fox FM

“No one has asked me to apologise. I have not done anything wrong for me to be disgraced like that.

“It is as if I am been forced to apologise. If you do that the apology does not become effective. We are different people with different approach to situations.

“I apologise to my kids when I go wrong. But not when I know I have not done anything untoward.

“The word has changed and so if an adult also err, he must be told in plain language. I have to be honest with you, I can’t apologise.

The latest outburst could deepen the already volatile tension that exits between the player and the club and could lead to further sanctions.

I said dis ooo, Hearts. Learn something from Kotoko. How can a player decide not to apologise? Indiscipline indeed!

  2. Fresher says:

Like I always say on this site, H of Oaks is like some kind of “BIONIC PLANET” where everyone is identical, there are no subordinates and nor superiors, so there is no one superior enough to advice, punish or warn his fellow.

I heared that Laryea was unduly scapegoated by CK Akkunor that is why Laryea has been behaving in an unprofessional way with impunity.

  4. Laryea dada b..hearts cant control dis guy..he seen evrythng in footbal wat u go fi show am.

  5. MICHAEL says:

Hearts of Oak should know that no player is indispensable. The suspense should serve it’s full duration and Laryea Kingston should humble himself and learn that it takes a disciplined life as a footballer to go far in your career. If this was the English league nobody will be begging for his release that’s why they go far.
Let the new generation of Hearts of Oak team be built on discipline and any player who can not conform to this should give way for the disciplined ones to take their place. With hardwork, confidence a willingness to succend and disciple, Hearts will win the league.

Please what laryea is doing is a great strategy to save himself from disgrace, our midfield is full of young, energetic, fit and great talents, he knows very well that he cannot compete with these guys so the best way to bow out with pride is to take this posture. He is only being fast and smart.

  9. Collito papa says:

I have been following this development for sometime now and must admit, Laryea is right.
What the hell should he apologise for. We Ghanaians are found of twisting matters in different directions. Let’s learn to call a spade a spade and stop been hypocritical.

  10. Shaddai-ksi says:

Lets use these young midfielders and forget laryeh cos he destruct our attention for this league.
