Ghana FA presidential hopeful Vincent Sowah-Odotei has shockingly backed Kwesi Nyantakyi to retain his seat but claims a new victory for the incumbent would mean "another five years lost'.
The former King Faisal chief has sensationally tipped his rival to win the presidency for the third time even though he claims football will retrogress under his tenure in the next five years
Nyantakyi is favourite to win a third term at  congress following his growing reputation in Ghana and on the continent.
Odotei, highly regarded as long-term rival of the CAF Executive member, admits he will lose the plot to unseat him but fears the game will not see a headway.
“Mr. Nyantakyi is not an Executive [President of the FA], that is a childish excuse,†he told Montie FM.
“A leader whether you are managing football, a country or a social thing must have a vision.
“To make sure the vision is carried through, of course we live in a democratic way – you must lobby people, you must get people to carry on with the vision.
“These are the excuses they are making.
“And let me make a prediction, again, I will tell you, it is likely Mr. Nyantakyi will be re-elected.
“But if he doesn’t change his leadership style, his administrative style, I am sure God-willing, if we’re still alive – five years, we will come back here and still be having these excuses.â€
