Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has singled out Yahaya Mohammed for massive praise and says he could be considered for a place in the Ghana squad ahead of the 2014 World.

The Asante Kotoko ace has been the most outstanding player at the ongoing CHAN tournament with matured performances that has earned him many admirers.

Mohammed was voted man-of-the-match during their 1-1 draw against Libya last Friday and the Ghanaian trainer, who is in South Africa monitoring the performance of the team has showered praises on the 25-year-old especially.

"I have been impressed with the performance of the goalkeeper and the central defenders, but Yahaya Mohammed has been excellent for the Ghana team right from the onset,” he said.

"His movements in and out of the box has been excellent and that is what you demand from your striker."

"I think a lot of the (CHAN) players can play at full international level and it is a point I have made to them whenever I have spoken to them before the first two games.

"But there are no names penned down yet even though I am still keeping an open mind.

"But clearly if some can be considered for future Black Stars campaign ahead of the world cup it will be one or two, and clearly Yahaya Mohammed will be among them, because his records in this tournament has shown."

Mohammed is suspended for Tuesday's group C game against Ethiopia.
