Kwarasey named in Ghana's starting line-up to face Montenegro - KP Boateng, Muntari benched
Kwarasey will start as Ghana's goalkeeper in the match against Montenegro

Goalkeeper Adam Kwasarey has been handed a rare start for Ghana as he is in the starting line-up to face Montenegro on Wednesday night with coach Kwesi Appiah giving several Black Stars bench warmers the chance to impress in the match in Podgorica.

Also named in the starting line-up is left-back David Addy and Mubarak Wakaso who have been unable to command starting places in the team in recent matches.

Top players Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew, Kevin Prince Boateng and Kwadwo Asamoah and Sulley Muntari will all start the match from the bench with coach Appiah keen on giving the chance to others who have not played in recent matches.

In-form Emmnauel Agyemang Badu, who has also been absent in the Black Stars starting team in recent matches, will also start in the match as he will partner Michael Essien in the centre of the midfield.

Jordan Ayew who has been absent in recent matches for the Black Stars will also start as he will team up with Abdul Majeed Waris who is in blistering form in France.

Kwarasey has been given the chance to show if he can command an automatic first place in the team as Fatau Dauda was excluded from the 20-man squad invited by the coach.

The Norway-based goalkeeper now has the chance to silence his critics by playing well in the match while Stephen Adams will start from the bench.

Badu, Wakaso, Jordan Ayew and Addy have recently been over shadowed by some of their team-mates but coach Appiah wants to give all the players a fair chance if impressing before he names his final squad for the World Cup.

John Boye will partner another in-form player Jerry Akaminko at the heart of the defence with Daniel Opare playing at his favourite right-back position while Addy takes the left-back position.

Kick off is at 1700 local time.
