Ghana youth striker Kwame Amponsah-Karikari netted his second pre-season goal for Balikesirspor in their warm-up game before the start of the Turkish season as they drew 1-1 with Manisaspor on Tuesday.

Karikari scored the opening goal from a fine strike from the edge of the box after a well-taken cross from German midfielder Deniz Vural in the 39th minute.

The 21-year-old came close to hitting a brace just before the break as his intelligent header crashed into the crossbar.

After Balikesirspor failed to increase their tally with a flurry of chances, the visitors levelled in the 67th minute.

The former Inter Allies forward who was also a member of the unsuccessful 2011 Ghana U20 squad joined the Turkish second-tier side from Swedes AIK Stockholm on a season-long loan spell after failing to secure and hold down a regular place in the Solna-based side's team.

His form could be crucial for Balikesirspor who gained promotion into the second division from the third-tier league and are seeking to shoot themselves into the Turkish Super League.

He becomes the second Ghanaian striker in the Turkish Lig. 1 after Emmanuel Banahene who has been included in Ghana's squad to face the Southeastern European.
