“This is amazing!” the ex Udinese star said after collecting the award.

“These are players that I respect and are doing well in their clubs. So I really appreciate it.

“It is something great and it will encourage me to do more because it tells me I am important to Ghanaians.”

Asamoah won the Serie-A and the Supercoppa titles with the Italian giants in the year under review.

He however tasted a bitter defeat as Juventus crashed out of the UEFA Champions League just after the group stage.
