Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah received his award on Tuesday as Goal Ghana’s Player of the Year.

The Juventus star polled an impressive 664 out of the 2292 total votes cast to beat Asamoah Gyan, Gideon Baah, Adam Kwarasey and Andre Ayew.

Asamoah has been the most consistent Ghanaian player in Europe in the year under review.

He has played 14 out of the 17 games for the Italian champions this season in Serie-A.

Asamoah was also played a key role in helping the Black Stars secure a third successive qualification the World Cup which will be staged next year in Brazil.

The 25-year-old feels elated to be voted for amongst a host of other Ghanaian players who performed remarkably in the year under review.

“This is amazing!” the ex Udinese star said after collecting the award.

“These are players that I respect and are doing well in their clubs. So I really appreciate it.

“It is something great and it will encourage me to do more because it tells me I am important to Ghanaians.”

Asamoah won the Serie-A and the Supercoppa titles with the Italian giants in the year under review.

He however tasted a bitter defeat as Juventus crashed out of the UEFA Champions League just after the group stage.
