Kwadwo Asamoah shines at left back, but Ghana loses to the United States

For outside of about 34 seconds, Kwadwo Asamoah and Ghana were forced to fight from behind. That’s what happens when you allow Clint Dempsey to slice his way through the right side of your defense and score a goal in the first minute of a match.

But the early goal didn’t demoralize Ghana like it might for some teams. The only good thing about giving up a goal so early in the game was that Ghana had nearly 90 minutes to try and get the equalizer. They got that, but then let the chance to get a point out of yet another thrilling World Cup match in Brazil.

Because this is a Juventus-first establishment, Ghana’s loss can be a Kwadwo Asamoah discussion as well.

The left wing was wide open for Asamoah — who had 78 touches and 91-percent pass success, according to WhoScored — from nearly start to finish. He definitely took advantage of it. That is, when his fellow Ghana players figured out that the left wing existed. But when they did, the ball was definitely going through Asamoah a good portion of the time.

Take Ghana’s goal. Asamoah won’t get credited for an assistant, but it was his pass to another Asamoah — Asamoah Gyan — that got the ball rolling for the goal to happen. It was a number of chances Asamoah played a major part in during the second half, which was clearly better for him personally than the first 45 minutes where he looked a little bit timid on the attacking end of things.

But who knows how much that had to do with him feeling a little hesitant because of where he was playing.

There are those who will still feel Asamoah should have played in the midfield rather than starting at left back. And to be honest, they’ve got a point. It doesn’t happen often that a manager purposely takes his arguably best player out of his best and natural position to put him in defense. But that what Ghana manager James Appiah went with. And in terms of end product for Asamoah himself was being one of Ghana’s best players against the USA.

The team, however, not so much.

The biggest thing with Ghana losing to the U.S.? Their stay in Brazil seems like it’s destined to come to an end in a rather short amount of time. Ghana’s next game? Germany. Oof. They’re going to need a whole lot of help to get out of the group. So catch Kwadwo while you can, I guess.

WE NEED TO GO IN WITH A KILLER MENTALITY.
    OUR BACKS TO THE WALL.
GERMANY WILL WANT TO FINISH US OFF BUT KNOW THEY ARE NOT DONE IF THEY LOSE TO US.
WE MUST PLAY TO OUR STRENGTHS AND LOAD THE MIDFIELD AND PLAY AT FULL ENERGY.
THERE IS NO WAY DAUDA MUST PLAY AGAINST GERMANY SO I DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT.

    That being said:

WHEN WE ATTACK FROM THE RIGHT,ESSIEN STAYS AT RIGHT BACK AND ASAMOAH DROPS TO LEFT BACK
WHEN WE ATTACK FROM THE LEFT,OPARE ASSUMES RIGHT BACK,ASAMOAH GOES UP MENSAH AND BOYE SWAP SO MENSAH GETS LEFT BACK.

ACQUAH___BADU__ MUST HOLD AND BE RELENTLESS. TRACK GOETZE AND OZIL.
BOATENG STAYS AT CAM UNTIL HE SES A GOOD REASON TO MOVE.

AYEW IS OUR MAIN PIVOT MAN____ HE WILL GO TO THE OPPOSITE WING TOWHICH THE MAIN ATTACK IS COMING FROM WHICH MEANS IF OPARE IS ATTACKING AYEW BECOMES A LEFT WINGER.
IF ASAMOAH IS BOMBING FORWARD, AYEW BECOMES A RIGHT WINGER.

I KNOW THIS IS ALOT BUT PLEASE READ IT AND GIVE ME FEEDBACK

The us-germany conspiracy I talked about has already started with klinsi given us a hint! He warned Ghana to be wary of Germany potency and he knows that if germany beats us, their final MATCH ll be given to them on a silver platter!

He just urging the Germans to beat us whiles counting on his German connections!! The USA has terms their team as GERMIUNIFICATION because of numerous Germany players in their squad and the Germans ll definitely beat us and aid usa to qualify easily! Mark it today!

This hurts! Was really disappointed in AA when kpb n ess did not enter the game at halftime, bottom line is this the worst defence we ever had, but we cant sit n cry for john mensah, vorsah n akaminko, wee got to work with what we have, john boye n opare better wake up from that lakadaisical attitude n no more kasa at left back. After they scored the 2 nd goal i realised luck was on thier side n that they have win this game. The only positive i gathered from this game which will help us with germany is ; we all found out the crosses is not gon work and was happy to see some give n go… One two passes in the around the box. This could help us in our difficult task of playing n winning or drawing against germany. Even with all the mistakes i still believe we should keep AA because we got to try do things for ourselves instead of asking aliens to solve our problems everytime there is a little mishap. He is the lowest paid coach in the world cup anyways…

Folks, AA. dropped Schlup because of (wrong?)popular demand. That guy is going to be our left back for a very long time to come. No more Opare if the Schlup mistake is anything to go by. Bring Inkoom, Essien, KP Boateng, Muntari, Waris, Gyan, Agyeman Badu, Kwadwo Asamoah, Kwarasey, Afful, and Afriyie Aquah/Jonathan Mensah and just tell them to go and play. These are players who know what to do. And let us face Germany and Portugal-I bet my last dollar, we shall be in the next round. Someone should BEND AA’s hands to make these changes because his master plan of creating a NEW core of Ghana players have failed woefully. Ghana will surely be in the next round.

I think our honorable coach should know that he is not the coach of juventus and thus not possese the caliber of players that they have for him to play asamoah as left full back. Asamoah is our play maker, so i sugest he plays him behind the attackers against the germans. My selection for the game against germany:
    1: Kwaraesay 2 Inkoom 3 Aful 4 sumalia 5 Mensah 6 Essien 7 Dede 8 Kevin 9 Gyan 10 K Asamoah 11 Waris.
    God bless Ghana.
