Kwadwo Asamoah set to seal Juventus move

Kwadwo Asamoah reacts after scoring during a Serie A soccer match between Udinese and Fiorentina

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah will arrive in Italy on Wednesday to complete a move to Italian side Juventus, MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal.

The 23-year-old, who is under contract with Udinese until June 2015, will leave the Fruili club after the two clubs agreed on a deal.

Asamoah, a key member of the Udinese side that finished third in Serie A this campaign, has attracted interest from around Europe including clubs like Manchester United.

However, Juventus have stolen a march on their rivals in the chase for the signature of the Ghanaian player.

Asamoah, who was part of Ghana’s squad that played Zambia over the weekend, arrived in Accra on Monday night to continue with his summer holidays.

Even though he is supposed to be on holidays, the midfielder says he will arrive in Europe tomorrow to have issues sorted out.

He tweeted on Tuesday morning: ”I am in Ghana now. Flying again tonight back to Europe and hopefully sort things out.”

He scored three goals in 31 league appearances to help his team finish third in Serie A.

Last summer, Udinese sold Alexis Sanchez, Gokhan Inler and Cristian Zapata after finishing fourth in Serie A and qualifying for the Champions League.

The departures did not stop the Friuli side improving on that finish this season.

  2. ROMEO says:

Hmm. He tweeted that whether he goes to England or stays in Italy, he still has Udinese in his heart. He never confirmed he’s going to seal Juventus. But the fact still remains: He’ll not be an Udinese player next season.

    He was disappointing on Saturday!

  4. Ansong says:

We always have talented players but this kumasi cannot take us anywhere because he lacks headcoach experience.Playing Adiyah,Afful,Boateng over Annan says it all.

I’m just praying that our national team coaches dscover howto use Asamoah very well. He was er insrumental in Udinese’s 3rd position feat.

  8. Pedro says:

He was lost on saturday game lyk always, but he is a gud player.wen we learn 2 use defensive players @ dey r position we will go places.muntari n a. kwadwo play defensive midfield at their teams..no mater how creative he is,he will still be a defensive midfielder.gud luck man

  9. coconutman says:

Boateng is not better than Annan and I do not know why Appiah insists on starting him. Where was Boateng when Annan was playing the World Cup? He played 90 minutes every game. He is not flashy with a big mouth and ego but he gets the job done.

  10. coconutman says:

All Kwadwo Asamoah had to do to guarantee himself a spot with Man U was to be a leader in Zambia. Score a goal or two for his country and he would have been set for life. He is still a good team player and has to learn to be a little more selfish to cut it to the next level.

  11. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

adiyiah, DERICK BOATENG n jordan must be excused. I DONT WANT TO SEE THEM TILL FURTHER NOTICE. kwadwo, in 43 app for gh sinCe 2008. u hve scored 1once p3R. ABEYIE HAS LESS APP THAN YOU, BUT WITH MORE GOALS. Y3 NUA NE S3N?

  12. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

BCOS OF ESSIEN NTI, EVERYONE IS PLAYING DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD. FOOLISHNESS! MUNTARI N ASAMOAH WERE GOAL SCORERS BEFORE THEY WENT OVERSEAS. STRIKER MUNTARI IS ESP DEADLY IN N AROUND THE 18 YD BOX WITH HIS SHOTS, CRISP 1, 2 TOUCHES, N FINISHING SO TO ME HE SHOULD PLAY AS A STRIKER. PLUS, HE IS NOT AFRAID TO SCORE OR USE HIS HEAD. HE HAS A TON OF BIG TIME EXPERIENCE. HE NEEDS TO WORK ON HIS STAMINA N CAPACITY. AC MILAN PUTS HIM UPFRONT SOMETIMES…SO LET HIM STRIKE
