Kwadwo Asamoah scores classy goal in Juventus heavy win

Posted On Saturday, 10th November 2012

Kwadwo Asamoah scored for Juventus

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah scored a wonderful overhead kick for Juventus as they mauled Pescara 6-1 in the Italian Serie A on Saturday.

This was a game Juventus were always going to win but the magnitude of the victory was however unexpected.

Arturo Vidal and Fabio Quagliarella put the ‘Old Ladies’ 2-0 ahead before Emmanuel Cascione halved the deficit for the visitors in the 25th minute.

Asamoah then restored Juvents’ 2-0 advantage by adding the third on the half hour mark.

His former Udinese team-mate Quagliarella, lobbed a ball inside the box for him to sensationally volley home.

Sebastian Giovinco added the third before Quagliarella scored twice to complete his hat-trick for the night.

This is Asamoah’s third goal for the club since joining them from Udinese.

Good to boost his confidence to do similar at the AFCON. He must start scoring

  2. Dr Who says:

He is good but plays averagely for the BS.If he decides to exert himself in our games,he will be African no. 1 because he has the potential.

  3. Kojo. says:

The African game is made up of majority crude players who play like they are playing Tae Kwan Do. Unfortunately, you have Issa Hayatou and his team of corrupt referees who encourage such brutal and primitive play. Eventually, high calibre players often leave the Afcon with several injuries which tell on their careers. The best preventive measure is to keep it safe. Until CAF begins to clamp down own the brutal play, we would never get the best out of the good teams an underdogs like Zambia will continue to dominate hampering progress in African football. We should know that you can not play same at the WC.

      • kantoose says:

I was saying this just few days ago. why do we think most african teams never perform on the world stage? Because in International footballis ablance of everything technical e.t.c.If a team wants to use aggression then sensible aggression is used otherwise redcard. You can’t just bump into people like we do in Africa. Watch Afcon2012. They way Guineans were BUMPING into Ghanaian players anyhow and it was allowe, dislocating Ayews shoulder not once but many times in the game. If even messi comes to Africa he would have to get used to this style of play first before he can excel.

its the position he plays thats why. charley you watch kotoko v hearts last season. full match o! http://wp.me/p2D15t-3V

  5. Nii Kwatei says:

Kwadwo is showing he belongs to the Italian football elite. Juventus is the best Italy has to offer and he’s proving he’s made of the the same quality as Pirlo, Marchisio, Vidal and co.
    Keep it up!

Kojo, you’er right about the rough play during AFCONS, & for me I think its one reason for Ghana’s inability to win ultimate. In the early days of the AFCON, physical strength contributed to our success at AFCON. For Ghana to win the AFCON 2013, we need physically (not just fittness) strong players in defence and attack….particularly in attack. We notice that, BS play better at WC because the referees are more sensitive to rough play. I think less physical players in BS should consider playing like Oscar / Chelsea, who does not allow opponents to get too close before passing or doing what he wants to do with the ball. They need to be fast on the ball to be effective.

  7. D LIGHT says:

There is something called ROLE CLASSIFICATION in football n as a Coach its ur primary objective to knw the strenghths & weaknesses of ur players, in order to use em to ur advantage. Ur success largely depends on the roles & the positions which u put this playerz on the field . If u assign em to positions dat unvail dier weaknesses more dan their strengths, der’s iz no way u going to xtract the Best in ur playerz…no mata how hard they try to make an impact.

In the Case of KOJO, we never saw his Best in d national Jersey in contrast to his Club b’cos we Use him as Trequartista (10) where der is a high demand of defence-br8king passes- the final pass or move to finish a goal. Unfortunately, this has been kojo’s weakness! The reason he always struggle.. Trequartista’s r players wit less Strength wit High flexibility- highly intelligent at breaking the resilience of thier opposing teams. Their weapon is Passing & Dribbling . Kaka, schnieder, Ozil, Lucas, Goetze, Kagawa r a few example.
ANTONIO CONTE descrebribed Kojo as the Best in a 5 man midfield. He having KOJO dis season was the reason he altered his 4mation to a
3-5-2 formation. He decided to play 3 backs due to kojo’s defensive ability & Stamina. His ability to hold the ball and make dutting runs down the left side. But u will also notice he dasn’t cut in to play as a winger b’cos he is not gud at that. He releases the pass to the likes of Marchisio, pirlo & Vidal to make those decisive ones. He doesn’t also shoot dat much b’cos of his inaccurasy.. He would rather bomb down the left n cross dan missile an attempt. KOJO is not A Winger, neither is he a Trequatista or a playmaker. Francisco Guidolin and Conte r successful wit him b’cos they play him at Left-midfield (LM) where he does more defending and deep-lying playmaking.

Akwesi Appiah sld use him at the Left side of a Front three. His
4-(2)-3-1 formation sld only involve two defensive midfielders. A Left & Right DM. Kojo, sulley n Wakasu sld b b vying 4 the LM, while Annan, Boateng, Badu, Abu, Acquah n may b Frimpong sld b competing 4 the RM. AA sld get a potent Trequartista like Abeyie, Kpb, or ayew who cld spray d decisive passes n make openings. Whiles wingers like Atsu and David Accam operate frm the Left & Right wing to provide the icing 4 the Target man upfront. He sld also scout potent Full-backs for the 2&3. ADDY,ASARE sld b vying for the LB while Rahim, Harrisön & Opare sld b competing for the RB. He sld desist frm using the Lilkes of Harrison & inkoom at the LB and RW and also cam out clean on why an Active player like Abeyie cant b given a chance.

Also is it true in wen u were d Assistant coach , u influenced ur pre-decessors not to pick Abeyie anytime there r call ups? Is it also true u have been using ya relationship wit the MEDIA to quench any issue regarding him? If Yes, why to u do that?
