Kwadwo Asamoah not surprised by Fatau's heroics at AFCON

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah says he is not surprised by goalkeeper Fatau Dauda's stupendous displays at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Like, Asamoah, the 27-year-old was an unused goalkeeper at the 2008 finals on home soil.

But Dauda worked his way through to become first choice ahead of Norway-based Adam Kwarasey.

The AshantiGold shot-stopper convinced Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah during their pre-tournament training in Abu Dhabi.

"I know what Fatau (Dauda) can do and this is the time and opportunity to show what he has got. So for me I'm not surprised by his performance," Asamoah said ahead of Wednesday's semi-final against Burkina Faso.

"Football is about 11 people on the pitch so I think I will give that credit to him but we all are doing our best."

Dauda was named Man-of-the-Match in Ghana's 2-0 win over Cape Verde in the quarter-final stage last Saturday.
