Juventus coach Maximiliano Allegri is anxious have either Kwadwo Asamoah back from injury ahead of Wednesday UEFA Champions League clash against Malmo FF.

The Ghanaian international has been on the sidelines for the past two weeks with an inflamed knee injury.

The 25-year-old was expected to return to full scale training this week but that has been delayed as it’s feared he could aggravate the situation.

The Italian champions travel to Sweden in desperate need of poinst to cushion them in Europe elite inter-club competition and manager Maximiliano Allegri has spoken about the importance of the Ghanaian and former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra, who has also been left  in the treatment room.

“We are hoping to have two of our important elements at the left wing back role which is either Asamoah or Evra for the game with Malmo,” Allegri told Eurocalcio.

“The 3-0 win over Lazio has given us the confidence for the game on Wednesday.”

Asamoah missed Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Uganda and Togo and could miss the tournament in Equatorial Guinea if he undergoes surgery.
