Kwadwo Asamoah blow for Ghana in Malawi clash

Posted On Saturday, 13th October 2012

Kwadwo Asamoah failed to recover for Ghana's Nations Cup qualifier against Malawi

Ghana suffered a major blow when injury ruled out midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah for Saturday’s decisive 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi.

The Juventus midfielder has been left out of the Black Stars 18-man team for the game in Lilongwe because of an ankle injury.

The Juventus midfielder suffered an ankle knock during the Black Stars training camp in Kenya.

Asamoah had some pains in his ankle during Friday’s training session in Lilongwe.

The Black Stars medical team said they will monitor his progress before deciding whether he will play in the game at the CIVO Stadium.

But it is now clear that he will not play in the game as his position has been taken by Rabiu Mohammed.

The Black Stars defeated the Flames 2-0 in the first leg.

The two countries are chasing the ticket for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Hey. Nice post! Just a little cooetcrirn about Isla as he is started as a right wing-back, but was moved in to the central position when Inler left prior to last season. He has the last year played as a box-to-box player with Basta supporting on the right wing
