Accra Hearts of Oak fans based in Kumasi are planning to give massive support to striker Mahatma Otoo on his debut senior Ghana appearance.

The 21-year-old has been named in the Ghana squad for Sunday’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan and would make his maiden senior Ghana bow at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Otoo’s swashbuckling scoring form in the domestic league has attracted huge attention around him.

Hearts have not had any recent call-ups to the Black Stars and their massive following in Kumasi, the Asante regional capital and home of big rivals Asante Kotoko, are thrilled with Mahatma’s call-up and his form.

“Mahatma is a very good striker and we believe that he is the right striker for the Black Stars. We will be at the Stadium to give him the necessary backing he needs on Sunday and we only need Kwesi Appiah to give him the chance,” a Kumasi-based fan said.

Mahatma, who has been linked with a move to English side Sunderland and French giants Olympique Lyon has hit ten goals in all competitions for Hearts this season.
