Asante Kotoko chairman Dr. Sarpong will be seeking the board’s mandate to dissolve the club’s supporters wing; the National Circles Council (NCC).

The intention is bourne out of management’s disappointment of the NCC’s inability to support the club after it was hit with Fifa fines totaling in excess of 130,000 Euros.

The NCC could only manage returns under 20,000 Ghana cedis after it was allocated 487000 worth of tickets connected to the massive fund raising project the club has since embarked on.

This means the combined contribution made by three individuals; the Executive Chairman’s nephew who donated 10,000, Osei Kwame Despite – 6000 and Kwabena Kesse – 6000 Ghana cedis respectively overshadows the total contribution of the Circles.

It is at the back of these figures and other factors that the Executive Chairman has decided to dissolve and restructure the supporters front.

“I have been very disappointed with the contribution made by Circles during this difficult period hence my decision to get it dissolved,” Dr. Sarpong told Kumasi-based Kessben FM.

“After its (NCC) dissolution, we will be looking at restructuring the whole supporters front to make it more effective in its operations.”

GHANAsoccernet.com understands that Dr. Sarpong is already getting support from the other board members necessary for passing the resolution at its next meeting.
