Kotoko's Rahman shocked at Ghana League award snub

Posted On Tuesday, 19th June 2012

Baba Abdul Rahman

Asante Kotoko defender Baba Abdul Rahman claims he feels ‘bad’ after missing out on the Ghana Premier League Most Promising Player award last Saturday.

The impressive left-back was beaten to the award by Tema Youth’s 16-year-old Joshua Onyinku.

Rahman, who has signed a deal for newly-promoted German Bundesliga new boys SpVgg Greuther Fürth, he was bullish about their chances.

“I was very confident when I was nominated because that is natural especially judging from my performance,” the 18-year-old Sunyani-based radio station Storm FM.

”As for my reaction after the award was announced, definitely I felt bad because everybody knew I would win it after I was nominated but all the same any of the three nominees deserved the award.”

“I cannot dispute it because the winner too was good as I did so if even I feel bad, I am not disappointed at all.”
