Nathaniel Asamoah in action for Red Star Belgrade
Asante Kotoko have written to FIFA to claim its due transfer fee from Serbian club Red Star Belgrade for the sale of striker Nathaniel Asamoah.
The Ghana Premier League champions are fed up with the persistent postponed payment of the reported €200,000 move.
“Nat’s (Asamoah) transfer was about 200,000 euros but up until now there are problems with payment of the transfer fee,” Kotoko’s spokesman Listowell Yesu Bukarson told Kumasi-based Angel FM.
“So Dr. Sarpong (Kotoko chairman) has asked the our lawyers to write to FIFA to assist us in retrieving this money.
“So as I speak to you know, the matter is still with FIFA and we await their verdict.”
Asamoah joined Red Star in February 2012 where he has struggled to get regular first team action.
Kotoko however are in desperate need of cash to power their campaign in next season’s CAF Champions League while they also look to defend their Premier League title this season.

Is dr sarpong that stupid? I see why he lacks transparency. Otumfuo has to audit this administration, something ain’t right
Bowe please, take it easy. Dr. Sarpong has earned his reputation…ok? Give him that respect. But this is shocking news. It means most of the guys he sold will have this fate!! This is bad. Now he will have to come back to relaunch his career. Damn!!
foolish comments from both of you , you no nothing about football!!!
It’s all been solted out and let no one put the blame on door step of da kotoko boss. This things do happen sometimes. Ask what happend when Lee Addy went 2 da same club. The Dr. was unaware of da situation in da Serbian club.
