Kotoko to earn $186,000 in new sponsorship deal

Asante Kotoko will earn a total of 350,000 Ghana cedis (over $186,000) by the time their three year sponsorship deal with Budget Cash and Carry ends.

The newly crowned Ghana Premier League champions signed the deal with the beverage producers on Thursday.

The sponsorship deal comes as another milestone chalked by the Dr. K.K Sarpong led administration which saw the Kumasi-based club crowned league champions for an unprecedented 22nd time at the end of the 2011/12 campaign.

The part of the cash injection will be used to purchase an astro turf for the club at the team’s village currently under construction in Kumasi.

“Under the deal, Budget Cash and Carry will pay Gh 10,000 plus the same worth of products in the first year,” Kotoko’s Public and Supporters Relations Manager Listowell Yesu Bukarson told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“The combined amount for the 2nd and the 3rd year (Gh 250,000) will be used to contract an atsro turf for the team at the team’s game village currently under construction at Adako Jarchie.”

The sponsorship drive is also excepted to help the club defray parts of the huge costs the club will attract in their campaign in the next edition of the Caf Champions League.
