Kotoko to cut sod for academy construction

Kotoko academy construction to begin next week

Asante Kotoko will do the symbolic sod cutting to commence the construction of their youth academy hostel on Saturday.

The three storey hostel facility is estimated to cost about $250,000.

The project was originally to cost $180,000 for a 20-room facility.

But the club’s decision to add one more level to the construction has raised the cost to $250,000.

The club has already secured an initial $100,000 from DR Congo club TP Mazembe to begin works on the academy which is expected to be completed in September next year.

“We will cut the sword for the construction of the project on Saturday for works to begin next week,” Kotoko chairman Dr K.K Sarpong told Angel FM.

“We originally planned to do two levels but we have decided to rather do three levels which has raised the amount.”
