Kotoko striker Yahaya Mohammed has vowed to face the club at FIFA after the Porcupine Warriors threatened to report him to the world governing body over a dispute on his decision not to extend his expiring contract with the Kumasi-based club.

The Local Black Stars striker insists he will only agree to extend his contract if Kotoko offer him a fresh two-year deal to enable them benefit from his future transfer abroad

Kotoko are keen on benefiting from the striker's decision to sign a pre-contract agreement with Libyan side Al Ittihad even though his deal with the Porcupines expires in August.

Mohammed will move to Al Ittihad on a free transfer in August if Kotoko fail to extend the contract but the Ghanaian club are only keen on offering him a one-year extension.

His decision to refuse the one-year contract has led to to threats from Kotoko that they will report him to FIFA and the striker insists he will be prepared to face them at the governing body to present his case.

“They told me to talk to Al Ittihad to come for negotiations for my signature, but it seems they are not ready to do that because they are aware my contract ends by August,” Yahaya told Metro fm.

“So I informed Kotoko to offer me a 2-year contract extension to enable them bank on me with any club that shows interest.

“On the contrary they were willing to give one year contract extension, but I insisted on the two years and it seems they are not ready to meet that.

“The management of Kotoko have threatened to take the matter up to FIFA and I am ready for them. They should do so if they claim they are football experts and that is where the truth will be established."

Kotoko have suspended the striker claiming his decision to sign a pre-contract agreement with Al Ittihad is illegal.
