Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko are expecting the return of Kofi Nti-Boakye from trials in Libya next week.

The striker has been training with Libyan club Al Ahli since the completion of the Ghana Premier League which saw Kotoko retain their title.

The club is looking to sell the former Heart of Lions hitman to generate revenue for recruiting players ahead of the new season.

And though a deal has not yet been struck for the 26-year-old, he is expected back in the country by next week.

"I have been informed Kofi Nti-Boakye will return by next week," chairman of Kotoko's Interim Management team Opoku Nti told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

"The manager informed me he (Nti-Boakye) will return next we so we await his return."

Kotoko need to augment their squad ahead of the start of the new Ghana Premier League season.

The Porcupine Warriors have already lost their Ebusua Dwarfs loanee Rashid Sumaila to South African club Sundowns.
