Top striker Ahmed Toure is certain Kotoko will beat Hearts in Ghana’s super clash on Sunday despite admitting the enormity of the task.

Kotoko travel to the capital as host of fellow strugglers in a keenly anticipated game at the Accra sports stadium.

Tension is high in Ghana as the two teams battle for survival following a patchy form this season.

While the Porcupine Warriors will be keen to avenge the 1-0 defeat suffered at home during the corresponding fixture, Hearts are anxious for the maximum points to steer clear of the relegation zone amid the bragging right of recording the double over their bitter rivals .

But Burkina Faso international, Ahmed Toure, who is racing to be fit for the game is confident his side will triumph on Sunday.

“Why not? We’re preparing to beat them. Our position on the league table is scary and we must win on Sunday,” he told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM

“Hearts are also in a bad situation so it’s going to be a very tough game for both teams. But the better side will win.

“But I know 100% Kotoko will win on Sunday. But all depends on the coach. If he gives me confidence, we shall deliver the ultimate for the fans. I know how to play for the supporters.

“I will like to urge the supporters to pray for us. The game against Hearts won’t be easy but I’m confident we’ll get the required result.

Toure has declared himself fit for the clash after he was suffered a ‘bout of malaria’ this week.
