Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure has strenuously denied claims he's feigning illness ahead of Sundayââ¬â¢s super clash against rivals Hearts of Oak.
The 28-year-old has a ââ¬Ëbout of malariaââ¬â¢, to cast doubts about his involvement at the Accra sports stadium.
But the fans are unimpressed, accusing him of feigning injury to avoid the clash in the capital but the Burkinabe international insists heââ¬â¢s not faking the illness.
ââ¬ÅIf you have malaria, you donââ¬â¢t have to talk too much,â⬠he told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM
ââ¬ÅYou have been here at the training ground and you have seen how I look. So how can I feigned injury and for what purpose?
ââ¬ÅGradually Iââ¬â¢m feeling better and I hope to be ready before Sunday.
The two struggling go at each other in a battle of survival with Hearts deeply involved in the relegation dog-fight.
A win for the Phobians will see them move on the same points with the Porcupine Warriors, who are lying 11 with 32 points with six games to end the season.
