Asante Kotoko have slapped in indefinite suspension of striker Yahaya Mohammed for going AWOL in February, Metro FM has reported.

The 25-year-old travelled to Libya where he is accused of signing for Ittihad Tripoli without permission from the Ghanaian giants.

In a letter dated April 24th 2014, Kotoko’s management have confirmed the indefinite suspension slapped on their forward as part of the recommendations made by the three-man committee of inquiry.

The club have also decided to halve the monthly salary of the home-based Black Stars’ hitman from March up to the time his suspension ends.

“Following the findings of the three-member committee set up to investigate your disappearance, Management in consultation with the technical team has suspended you indefinitely,” aspects of the letter read.

Yahaya Mohammed travelled to Libya to allegedly sign a pre-contract agreement with Ittihad Tripoli on the heels of an impressive campaign with Ghana at the CHAN tournament.

The ex OGC Nice player’s current deal with the reigning Ghana Premier League champions ends at the end of the current campaign in May.

He is therefore free to join any club of his choice at the end of this period as free agent.
