Kotoko sign partnership deal with TP Mazembe

Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko have signed a five-year partnership deal with DR Congo giants TP Mazembe. 

Per terms of the agreement, the Lubumbashi-based side host Kotoko for two weeks in January next year and also visit Kumasi at a yet-to-be confirmed date.

Mazembe, owned by wealthy businessman Moise Katumbi Chapwe, are emerging a new force in continental football.

Kotoko are on the verge of selling two players Daniel Nii Adjei and Yaw Frimpong to Mazembe.

"The two clubs will be participating in next year's Africa Champions League and so we have agreed that they host us in their country for two weeks where we use the time to prepare our teams for the coming assignments," Kotoko International Relations Consultant Kwame Baah-Nuakoh said.

"This will be sometime after the end of the first round of the Ghanaian league.

"We will also host them in Ghana at a date to be agreed on."

Kotoko signed an international partnership affiliation with English Premier League side Sunderland.
