Kotoko players provoked me - Laryea Kingston

Hearts midfielder Laryea Kingston claims he was a subject of torrential verbal abuse from the Kotoko players during their Premier League stalemate on Sunday.

The 32-year-old was by far the best player for the Phobians after he put up an outstanding performance for the capital-based side.

Kingston created many splitting passes that created many problems for the Kotoko defenders.

He claims players of the Porcupine Warriors insulted him on many occasions on the pitch without provocation.

“They insulted me many times. They really insulted me. They were trying to provoke me,” Laryea told Kumasi-based Fox FM

“I like all of them and so I kept my cool.I think it was a strategy that they adopted but it never worked.

“Hearts and Kotoko are the two giants of Ghana football. I was happy with the way the supporters comported themselves.

“I was touched by what I saw. It gave me goose pimples. I was happy with our performance as well and I told my colleagues they did well.”

Kingston was shown the marching off orders when the two teams clashed at the same venue last season.
