Asante Kotoko insists the acrimonious exit of Asamoah Gyan will not have any bearing on their partnership agreement with Sunderland.
The agreement signed in July will see the English club share itââ¬â¢s coaching and business expertise with the two-time African champions.
However Gyanââ¬â¢s shocking departure to UAE club Al Ain last week has sparked fears relative to a negative effect on the agreement with the Ghana Premier League giants.
ââ¬ÅI donââ¬â¢t see how the transfer of a player will have any effect on an existing partnership agreement,â⬠Kotokoââ¬â¢s Spokesman Listowell Yesu Bukarson told GHANAsoccernet.com.
ââ¬ÅThe fact that a Ghanaian player has left the club under strange circumstances does not at all mean a partnership agreement with a Ghanaian club will be strained.
ââ¬ÅAs far as we are concerned, the partnership deal is still on and that we are just bidding our time to see as and when itââ¬â¢s implemented.ââ¬
The partnership, one of the current Kotoko chairmanââ¬â¢s major achievement will also see the Black Cats offer practical support and advice in youth coaching, player development, fitness and medical matters, and football business strategy to the Porcupine Warriors.
