AshantiGold winger Bernard Morrison says Asante Kotoko's excessive pre-match talk motivated his teammates to beat the defending champions.

The Miners handed Kotoko a chastening 2-0 at the Len Clay Stadium in a regional derby.

Morrison insists Kotoko's loudmouth in the media gingered them to victory on Sunday.

"They were making noise but football is played on the pitch not on radio stations," the 21-year-old told GHANAsoccernet.com after the game.

The former Heart of Lions winger was involved in the sequence of play that fetched the first goal for AshGold and lasted the entire duration of the game.
