Kotoko open six-point lead after Medeama trouncing
Kotoko were ruthless against Medeama

Champions Kotoko opened a six-point lead at the summit of the Ghana Premier League table with a resounding 4-1 win over Medeama on Sunday.

Striker Seidu Bancey scored twice in the first half before Jordan Opoku and Prince Baffoe scored the other two goals to give the Porcupine Warriors the comprehensive win at the Baba Yara stadium.

Medeama looked lethargic and failed to break down a resolute Kotoko side who dished out some scintillating display in front of their vociferous home fans.

The Tarkwa-based side scored the consolation goal through Kennedy Boateng as they left the venue demoralized.

The two-time African champions were simply pitiless against the visitors and handed coach Augustine Evans Adotey his first defeat since taken charge of the side.

Kotoko will head into the final game of the first round in buoyant mood after their outstanding performance against Medeama.
