Kotoko open six-point lead after Medeama trouncing

Champions Kotoko opened a six-point lead at the summit of the Ghana Premier League table with a resounding 4-1 win over Medeama on Sunday.

Striker Seidu Bancey scored twice in the first half before Jordan Opoku and Prince Baffoe scored the other two goals to give the Porcupine Warriors the comprehensive win at the Baba Yara stadium.

Medeama looked lethargic and failed to break down a resolute Kotoko side who dished out some scintillating display in front of their vociferous home fans.

The Tarkwa-based side scored the consolation goal through Kennedy Boateng as they left the venue demoralized.

The two-time African champions were simply pitiless against the visitors and handed coach Augustine Evans Adotey his first defeat since taken charge of the side.

Kotoko will head into the final game of the first round in buoyant mood after their outstanding performance against Medeama.

Ghanasoccernet, stop being lazy and publish a current picture of the Kotoko players. How many players in the picture used for this story still play for Kotoko?

  2. Isaac DWUMAH says:

Why can’t u guys publish the current kotoko players pictures, instead of using some old players who might not still be playing for the club anymore?

  11. Carbonite says:

You folks should give GSN a break about the pictures! This is a general problem in Ghana and not to GSN alone, the chief culprit is the GFA itself!! Check their site and you will see older pictures. Once someone takes a picture, that picture will circulate among all media houses for 2-3 seasons!

  12. Efiewura says:

Carbonite, I perfectly agree with you but the lazy and unprofessional attitude must stop. GSN has all it takes to take and publish current pictures of players and they should strive to do that always.
