Asante Kotoko assistant coach Michael Osei says the team is oozing confidence ahead of the start of their Premier League defence following their Super Cup win over Medeama.
The Premier League champions mesmerized their guest with their attractive football to ultimately retain their Super Cup title with a 3-0 win.
The win sees the camp of the Porcupine Warriors massively boosted in anticipation of a great start to their Premier League campaign this weekend against Aduana Stars.
And Osei admits there is an extra spring in the step of the Kotoko players following their impressive win over Medeama – an expected title contender – last weekend.
“We have realized that the confidence and fitness levels of our boys have gone high after the win over Medeama,” he said.
“We will keep preparing and I am sure we can retain our Premier League title.”
Kotoko have had to play league opening match – an official home game – away from home as they continue to serve out a home ban for crowd trouble last season.
They will therefore face Aduana in Sunyani on Sunday.
