Kotoko midfielder Nii Adjei eyes TP Mazembe move

Daniel Nii Adjei wants to join Mazembe

By Patrick Akoto

Kotoko midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei says he will welcome a move to Congolese giants TP Mazembe.

The four-time African champions have tabled a mega offer for the services of the powerful midfielder.

While Kotoko may be reluctant to release their impressive enforcer to the rich Congolese club, the former Power FC player is relishing the prospect of joining the club.

“Everybody want to move forward in life and so if any opportunity comes for you to move, you grab it with both hands and then you pray to God for him to lead you and move on,” Adjei told Radio XYZ.

“When it comes,  I think will be a good move for me. When you look at what they have done in  Africa, it will not be out of place to join them.

“I know Kotoko have qualified for the Champions League, but  TP Mazembe is also a big club with great history.

“No one knows what lies ahead. So moving to Mazembe will give me another opportunity to move to Europe.

“I am taken it step by step and praying it will come so I can leave.”

The 25-year-old was voted MVP in the Ghana Premier League last season.

  1. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

    QUALITY OF PREMIER LEAGUE
GFA NEEDS TO PUT CERTAIN RESTRICTION IN PLACE TO KEEP THE TALENT IN GH. OTHERWISE, THEY WILL ALL LEAVE AS SOON AS THEY R HOT.
THIS WILL DILUTE THE QUALITY OF OUR LEAGUE. HOW CAN A GH CLUB EQUAL THE SUCCESS OF CLUBS IN EGYPT OR S AFRICA IF ALL OUR PLAYERS ARE LEAVING GH EARLY?
ALL LOCAL PLAYERS MUST PLAY A MIN OF 3 YRS IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE BEFORE THEY R ELIGIBLE TO BE SOLD TO A FOREIGN CLUB. EVERY LOCAL CLUB MUST
ALSO HAVE A QUOTA/ALLOWED 3 FOREIGN PLAYERS IN THEIR TEAM.
ANOTHER WAY NYANTAKYI HAS FAILED. WE HAVE MUSHROOM CLUBS SPRINGING UP FROM ANYWHERE. WHY DO WE HAVE 2 CLUBS IN BRONG AHAFO?
GFA MUST LOOK AT POPULATION, COMPETITION, INFRATSRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT, LOCAL ECONOMY ETC
BEFORE GRANTING OWNERS A LICENSE OR ACCESS TO STARTING A SOCCER CLUB OTHERWISE THEY WILL SUFFER BCOS OF A LACK OF A FAN BASE.
THE FIFA CLUB LICENSING SYSTEM was approved at the FIFA Congress in Munich in 2006 and since then FIFA has asked national associations to reform.
WE ARE NOW IN 2012, AND IT IS NOW THAT NYANTAKYI WANTS TO IMPLEMENT THIS IN GH. CLUBS IN PREMIER, AND DIV MUST BE
TASKED WITH PROVIDING PLAYER HEALTH INSURANCE AS THEY DO OVERSEAS, OTHERWISE GH SOCCER
WILL CONTINUE TO WADE N WALLOW IN MEDIOCRITY AND THE HEALTH OF THE PLAYERS WILL SUFFER.
