Kotoko make Nguema complaint over scanty information

Asante Kotoko open Champions League campaign against Sony Nguema

Asante Kotoko have complained of the hoarding of information by their CAF Champions League opponents, Sony Nguema.

The Equatorial Guinean side are expected to arrive for the first leg of the preliminary tie this weekend on Thursday.

But Kotoko officials say detailed information regarding Nguema’s travel arrangements have been woefully inadequate.

“We at Kotoko sent our hosting information relating to the match venue, date and kickoff time some ten days ago but our guests have been sketchy in their release of information,” Kotoko’s Administrative Manager Ben Nti said.

“As we speak the only information they have sent to us is their contingent size (27 including their FA official) and the date of arrival (14th February).

“We do not know about the airline they are arriving on, neither do we know when they are expected to touch down.”

The Kumasi-based side who are hoping to build upon Berekum Chelsea’s impressive debut campaign in the competition have informed the Ghana FA of their predicament for assistance.

“We have communicated our difficulties with our opponents’ coming and itinerary to the GFA and we are hoping that they contact their counterparts in Equatorial Guinea for us to know what to do from here on,” Nti added.
