Asante Kotoko have lined up a friendly match against city rivals King Faisal this weekend.

The champions almost immediately arranged this friendly following the cancelation of their Super 2 clash with rivals Hearts of Oak.

The game against Faisal according to Kotoko officials is to congratulate and welcome the Insha Allah boys back into the Ghanaian topflight while strengthening the bond between both Kumasi-based clubs.

“We are very happy to have our brothers back in the Premier League and we want to play this game to welcome them,” Kotoko’s spokesman Listowell Yesu Bukarson told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“The game will also ensure the cordial relationship that exists between both clubs is strengthened as we look towards a fruitful campaign this season.”

The game is slated to come off at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
