Asante Kotoko insist their partnership agreement with Sunderland won’t suffer a jolt following the resignation of Executive Chairman Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong.

Dr Sarpong played an instrumental role in landing the mega partnership agreement with the English side back in April 2011.

However there are fears his exit could affect the fine agreement with the Black Cats since he was central to deal being struck.

But the club’s head of communication Dr Ernest Opoku has allayed the fears of the supporters insisting his depature won’t affect the partnership.

“Dr Sarpong has laid a solid foundation and so nothing will change about the partnership,” Opoku said

“Even if he is no more in charge, whoever takes his place will have to continue with his good policies.

“Dr Sarpong has still been working to ensure all monies due Kotoko are paid into the club’s chest.

“And so I want to assure our teeming supporters that nothing will change as far as the Sunderlan deal is concerned.

Kotoko are already reaping the benefit with their association with the Black Cats as their youth team is expected to travel to England to engage the side in a friendly.
