Kotoko inaugurate 10-man CAF Champions League committee
Asante Kotoko's CAF Champions League Committee.

Asante Kotoko have inaugurated a 10-member CAF Champions League committee which is chaired by businessman Alhaji Abu Lamini.

Members are Nana Kwaku Bosompem, alias Cashbee, (businessman), Dr. Kwaku Frimpong Champion Divine Clinic, Kabral Blay-Amihere (board member).

Others are Frank Apeagyei (board member), Opoku Nti (Acting General Manager of the club) and Joe Aggrey (a veteran sports journalist).

The rest are Samuel Osei Kufour (board member) Samson Deen (businessman), Kennedy Agyapong (businessman) and Nana Boakye of Nana Boakye Herbal.

Each member has agreed to contribute at least GH¢ 5,000 (US$ 2500) which will be part of the revenue mobilization towards the financial backbone needed by the club.

"We have a budget for the entire campaign which is around US$ 500, 000. Committee members are to contribute GH¢ 5,000 to an account as seed money.

"We will raise the remaining funds through various activities such as special levies on tickets and vigorous sponsorship.

"We have looked at Kotoko's strengths and weaknesses in all aspects of the game. We are sure that with sound financial backing and proper planning, we can achieve our aim."

Kotoko last won the African Cup of Champions Clubs, now CAF Champions League, in 1983.
