Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Isaac Amoako returned to action on Sunday as his side beat an Accra select side 3-2 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Amoako was playing his first match in four months as a second half substitute in the trial match.

“It gives me great pleasure to be back in post. I am very happy. I came on as a substitute; I wished there was more time to display. I have missed the game. The important thing is that, I am back and with time, I will catch up with all that I have missed,” he told the club's official newspaper.

Amoako tore a ligament in his knee during the FA Cup, semi-final match against King Faisal in June.

Although he was treated, the injury resurfaced when the team started their pre-season training in August.

Amoako was scheduled to be out for six weeks but it turned out to be more than three months.
