Asante Kotoko forward Yahaya Mohammed has apologised for going AWOL in Sunday’s draw with Ebusua Dwarfs.

The 25-year-old was conspicuously missing from the thrilling 2-2 draw with Dwarfs in Cape Coast.

Many have attributed Yahaya’s absence to the ongoing contractual dispute with the club.

The ex OGC Nice player is reportedly demanding more money before extending his contract with the champions.

But the home-based Black Stars forward insists his absence had nothing to do with money while apologising to the fans.

“I want to apologise to the management, my teammates and fans for not showing up in Cape Coast,” he told Metro FM.

“The reasons, I cannot divulge on air but to say there are issues that are being sorted out.

“I can however assure that the reasons have nothing to do about money.

“I only ask for forgiveness now and that at the appropriate time, everything will be revealed.”
