Kotoko expecting Ochaya this week to begin career

Posted On Monday, 3rd September 2012

Joseph Ochaya will be in Kumasi this week

Ugandan defender Joseph Ochaya is expected in town this week to begin his career with Asante Kotoko.

The 19-year-old joined the Ghana Premier League champions after catching the eyes of Kotoko officials when Ghana’s U-20 team defeated their Uganda in the African Youth Championship qualifier last month.

Ochaya was reported to have sealed the move from Kampala City Council FC for a reported $30,000 fee.

He however had to return to his native country after passing a Kotoko medical to say his final bye-bye’s to friends and family before travelling back to commence his Kotoko career.

Spokesman for the Porcupine Warriors, Listowell Bukarson now confirms he is expected to arrive sometime this week.

“Joseph Ochaya is expected this week to join the team to begin preparations for the assignments ahead,” he told MTNFootball.com.

Ochaya is one of numerous signings to have been made by Kotoko this term in their bid to retain their Premier League crown and also to make a meaningful impact in next year’s CAF Champions League.
