Kotoko edge closer to league title triumph after defeating Amidaus to open 12-point lead
Kotoko are coasting to their second straight league title

Asante Kotoko edged closer to their third consecutive First Capital Plus Premier League title on Wednesday when beating Amidaus 1-0 to open a 12 point lead at the top of the Ghana top-flight.

A goal by the league's top-scorer Seidu Bancey three minutes after the break handed the Porcupines all three points.

This means the Kumasi-based giants have made it three wins out of three following the defeat over Amidaus Professionals at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Didi Dramani's side now have a 12-point lead at the top with 12 more matches to go after closest challengers Hearts of Oak and Ashgold all dropped points following Wednesday's matches.

The Porcupine Warriors are gradually edging closer to a third-straight title after opening up the gap at the summit of the  table thanks to the home victory.

The win will boost Kotoko ahead of the derby with King Faisal next week.
