Asante Kotoko have denied holding talks with former player Michael Osei over an assistant coaching job.

Osei is a free man after refusing to extend his stay with New Edubiase when his contract run out at the end of last season.

Rumours are however rife the ex Kotoko midfielder is set to make a return to the club as an assistant coach in a planned off-season technical shakeup.

But spokesman for the Ghana Premier League champions Dr. Ernest Opoku says these rumours fast gaining grounds are false.

"These reports can only be treated as rumours,'' he told MTNFootball.com.

"We have not had discussions with Michael Osei and therefore there I nothing in these rumours going round."

Kotoko are expected to make changes in the technical team as the future of head coach Mas-Ud Dramani remains uncertain despite leading the side to a successful title defence.
