Kotoko defender Gideon Baah will arrive in Finland on Wednesday morning to begin his European career with top-flight side FC Honka, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The left-back left the Kotoko International Airport on Tuesday night to start his loan stint with the Finnish top-flight side.

He will quickly start training with the club on Thursday as they prepare for the start of the season in the country, Ghana’s leading football news outfit GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Baah signed the loan deal for Honka last month and his work permit was secured last week to pave the way for him to travel.

The defender opted for the move to Finland after falling down the pecking order at the club following the acquisition of Ugandan Joseph Ochaya.

Baah is hoping his move to Finland can revive his career and cement his ambition of playing for his country.

He joined Kotoko three seasons ago after his former side Sporting Mirren were relegated from the Ghana Premier League.

The TV Soccer Reality Show winner failed to command a first team place after recovering from a career-threatening injury.

He broke his leg at the Baba Yara Stadium during the Ghana Premier League derby against Hearts of Oak.

The 2013 Finnish Veikkausliiga will begin on 13 April where FC Honka travel to Turn Palloseura.
